Gear s2 won't connect remotely.

So I just got the gear s2 yesterday through T-Mobile. It connects fine via bluetooth with my s6 edge+. But when I turn off bluetooth on the phone (just to test the remote connection) it doesnt work. Call forwarding, texts, nothing comes through. Anyone have any idea's?

Re: Gear s2 won't connect remotely.

It seems the different carriers have different setups, but for mine (Verizon) I had to turn on remote connection in Gear Manager and also set Gear Network on (or auto switch) on the watch. My watch will go into standalone mode for a moment when I turn the phone BT off (or walk out of range), then once it connects remotely it will say "connected remotely".

t-mo seems to have auto call forwarding, which is cool. On Verizon I get everything except actual call forwarding (I have to set that manually). Emails, SMS/MMS, and call notifications all came through on the watch this morning while my phone was at home.

Yes. I have a samsung account and Gear Manager asks me to sign in to my samsung account when I went through set up. It just doesnt connect for whatever reason.

Again, just to be straight. Everything works fine when I am connected through BT. The only issue is that I am not getting a "Remote Connection" when I am away from my phone.

Re: Gear s2 won't connect remotely.

I have the Bluetooth model, and noticed for around a week that I was not able to connect remotely. I was either "Connected via Bluetooth" or "Standalone" even though I had wifi on and I was connected to my router. Didn't receive any notifications with Bluetooth off. I checked the Gear app, and under Settings, "Connection" was on, and "Use Remote connection" was on. Tuned it off and back on, and for an entire day, the green toggle would not turn back on after attempting to connect.

Finally this morning, I did a factory reset of S2 and now I'm able to turn off Bluetooth, and I'm seeing "Connected Remotely" on the S2 after about 20 seconds of initial "Standalone".

Don't know if this is what y'all are experiencing, but might be worth a shot to reset. Also, I'm using a Nexus 5.

*Update* Just got back from T-Mobile. The issue was that the Sim card they had as active for my watch was not the Sim card that was in my watch lol. Everything is working now. Thx for all your troubleshooting.

What does signing in to a Samsung account do? I don't think I am and I can go into a remote connection. (Side note) when I tried playing samsung milk just on watch no Bluetooth connection to phone, it did say standalone mode for some reason.
