Why won't my LG G5 stay powered off while charging?

[AC Question]

LG G5 Will not stay powered off while charging

I have the LGG5 powered down, then plug in the charger and it automatically powers on. Can I change this setting?

There's no setting for that but my phone doesnt do that. My stays off

Try plugging in the charger before you power down. That seems to work for some people. Also check in developer options that keep powered on while charging is unchecked.

I plug the charger in 1st and then power it off. That seems to work. If I power it off 1st and then plug it in, then phone powers back on as you described.

Must be different on Verizon....phone. Stays off no matter what

I have the unlocked LG G5 H860 dual Sim on AT&T - maybe it all depends what type of G5 and the carrier?
