Why won't my phone screen remain active?

[Android Central Question]

When I am on a call I cannot keep the active phone screen on top. The white screen with green characters remains up and I cannot respond to cues to press numbers for particular results.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy s20 FE 5G. I can only ee this screen while on a call.

Welcome to Android Central! That's normal -- what are you expecting to see?

Agree it is normal, are you looking to minimize that? If you want to go different screen swipe up if using gestures or tap home button if want home screen and then it will minimize to your notification panel or status bar

It's not the normal "live" screen. The actual live screen where you can do things like press numbers to make choices for answering systems will not stay on top. All I can get is the minimized version with no number pad.

Ok, that screenshot simply shows your notification panel pulled down. You should be able to get rid of that by swiping it back up.

You can get back into keypad by tapping it and will go full screen again, im little confused by what your looking for here .
