Phone won't stop connecting to open wifi networks

I need some help on this one... Beginning a few weeks ago, I noticed that my phone keeps auto-connecting to open wifi networks. Most frequently, the ever annoying xfinitywifi (I am not a home Comcast customer). But what's really freaking me out is:

1. I have Network Notification and Scanning Always Available disabled, yet my phone keeps automatically turning wifi on when I'm within range of these open networks.

2. I don't seem to need to manually "sign-on" and "agree" to these networks. Example, 10 minutes ago I noticed that my phone turned wifi on (I had/have a strong data signal), jumped onto an xfinitywifi and started downloading updates and podcasts, with no intervention by me.

3. No matter how many times I try to "Forget" these networks, my phone keeps signing onto them.

4. Since the problem started I made no significant changes to my phone other than downloading (and deleting unused) apps.

How do I stop this?

Phone:
Rooted/unlocked Nexus 5
KitKat 4.4.3
Straight Talk service

Thanks for giving me another reason for not liking ST. One more app to freeze.

Thank you... I removed this app and the phone no longer connects to any open networks. The app didn't even come with and enable/disable options... nice, eh?

Nice if you want to use as little mobile data as possible, but not nice that there's no enable/disable.

Log into your xfinity account. Go to services and equipment. Internet or wifi settings. My devices. Remove your device. This should fix the problem.
