Why won't my phone sync with Windows Music Media?

I have a Samsung 3 and use Windows 10. I plug in my USB port but it does not recognize it.

Welcome to Android Central! Which Samsung phone? S3, Note 3, Ace 3? Are you trying to use Windows Media Player? I wouldn't--it doesn't work well with Android, in my experience. The best way to transfer music files is to use Windows Explorer and simply drag and drop the files.
