S4 won't send or receive calls
I had two S4's. The first belonged to my son, it had gotten wet. Took it apart removed mother PCB and other components, cleaned and dried all the components. Phone would not come on.
Purchased another used phone that I took to Verizon store to verify that it was not stolen. That phone would come on but the screen was cracked so the phone would not light up. But the power light and the two soft keys for (back and android menu) would. The only damage on that phone was the crack on the display under the glass. According to the seller the phone fell off of a table and landed flat on the face and cracked the display. Before that everything worked.
So I used my sons phone with the good screen, took the components from the used phone I purchased put it back together, went down to Verizon and had them install the new Sim card. Their system see's the phone. It cannot dial out or receive calls, but it does show on the screen that it's trying, then it times out and ends call. If someone calls me it goes into my voice mail right away, as if the phone was off. Also I cannot hear anything from the ear spkr. NOW I can send and receive texts, internet works, back spkr works, I can record my voice and play back, Cameras work, I can plug headphones in and they work (but not for Dialing). Verizon had me try many things, then they had me do a Hard Reset to wipe the phone. That went okay, but still can't dial out or receive calls and ear piece has no sound when dialing.
I'm to check the antenna connection, but I doubt it's bad, because I also tired the other back cover and had same problem. Seems like the mother PCB just maybe bad on both phones?
