Why wont my Samsung Galaxy avant phone charge

OK so I've had ito on the charger ever since last night about 9:00pm and it still has little to no charge onot it as of yet. What could possibly be the problem? Please help

If the phone is turned off, a bad charger, a bad cable, a bad charger port, bad charging circuit in the phone or a bad component drawing a lot of current.

If the phone is turned on, add an app that's drawing a lot of current.
