Why won't my Samsung S6 receive group messages?

Samsung s6 won't receive group messages

I just got a Samsung s6 and can't receive group messages. neither samsung or AT&T can tell me why it won't work. I can send group messages, but don't receive any responses. is it because the other group participants have iPhones? and if so, how do I get around this?
