Why won't my selfie stick work with my otter phone case?

I have a selfin stick that my mom got from one of her workshops and I got to use it before with my android before but I have a new otter phone case so I can't use my selfie stick now is there a way I can use it wit out taking the case off?

If it won't work with the case on, your only option is to remove the case. Or get one that will work with the case on.
