Why won't my touch key light work for my note 2?

I go to settings then display and change my touch key light timer to always on or 6 seconds but it won't work. Please help!

Welcome to Android Central! It doesn't work in what way? Does it just not come on? Do you have any screen-dimming apps installed? These sometimes also affect the capacitative button backlights.

Does a reboot help? If not, you could try booting into Recovery and wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data. Reset: Samsung Galaxy Note II | T-Mobile Support
