Wi-Fi always on, even in Airplane mode

Hi,

As per the title, my Wi-Fi always seems to stay on, even during Airplane mode. I always put my phone in Airplane mode at night, and from the attached screenshot of battery usage, it's clear that doesn't really turn it off.

I'm aware of the setting "Scanning always available" and it's OFF. Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set to "Always", but unless I misunderstand this, I believe this is only supposed to keep Wi-Fi on when the phone's screen is off and the phone is locked. Does "Always" actually mean even in Airplane Mode? If not, I'd be very grateful if someone can suggest something I can do in order to resolve this.

My phone and OS details are in my signature.

Many thanks!

Hi all,

It could very well be a glitch. I struggled many days to fix this doing all imaginable things. I posted in another thread here at AC, but what solved this Wi-Fi on always in Battery stats, was that I toggled Extreme Battery Saver on, then off. So far after several hours of power use, it remains no Wi-Fi bar in stats. That's whether plugged in or not. Hopefully, it stays that way overnight, because I had been loosing nearly 30-40% more battery than was usual.
