OK, so I did an network reset, it didn't help. Then I gave a battery a few days to "get used to" - nothing happened. I did a factory reset yesterday, wi fi drain is still on board... I have a stock firmware, what can I do to make my Marshmallow work properly?

Hello,
as many others, I also have the Wi-Fi drain problem with my X Play.
I've read some other threads in this forum (even in other forums) and it seems like the issue still hasn't been resolved.
I tried almost everything:
Factory reset, changing location settings, letting the battery recharge a few times etc but the Wi-Fi drain is still there.
I'm honestly considering to root it back to Lollipop if there's no other way. Does anyone have an idea?

By the way, thank you for taking your time to help out, Javier. I've seen you in multiple threads about the issue.

Hello nyquistfrequency, welcome to the forums! Yeah, unfortunately the WiFi drain persists for some people no matter what they do. It's a funny bug. Before going back to Lollipop you could try a couple more things.

Have you received the January security patch? It fixed the problem for some people.

Doing the whole procedure in a very specific order seems to make a big difference. First uncheck WiFi and Bluetooth in the location settings, then reset network settings, power the phone off and let it charge until full. Before a normal restart go into recovery and wipe the cache partition.

Another thing. For some people even with WiFi high on the battery stats doesn't necessarily mean that there's a drain. It's just a bug giving a bad reading and battery life isn't affected.

I have GSam Battery Monitor installed and it shows 2% wifi while stock battery info shows 23%.. So as Javier noticed, maybe there is no real drainproblem just a bad readingbug?
Can anyone else doublecheck with a second battery monitor app?
