Wi-Fi Range

Am I the only one experiencing this issue? I had an M8 and switched over to the M9 due to my camera sensor constantly buzzing not able to focus. The Wi-Fi range on my M9 isn't as strong as the M8. I was able to get on the internet and used internet-based apps with my previous phone while in bed but I can't with the new one. Is there anything I can do to get around this?

Are you sure this is a problem with your phone? I'm just wondering if it is more to do with the settings of your router.

My M9 is giving me the same coverage as my note 3 and my S6. I would have the WiFi tested at the shop.

You may want to describe your setup for better help. Are you connected at 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz? What was your M8 connected at? While 5.0 is faster, it has a shorter range and is more susceptible to interference. Sometimes, repositioning the router or changing the channel on it can make a big difference.

My router has the option for a 2.4 and 5.0 connection. I changed the settings on my M9 to connect only to the 2.4 and the connection is weak and cuts out when I'm on my bed. I don't know what my M8 was connected to but it was at default settings.

How does it do in other rooms? If it is an issue throughout the house, I would make these attempts- forget and setup the connection on the phone again, reset the router, try a different channel on the router, hard reset the phone. If all fail to fix it, you face the possibility of a faulty phone.

It's fine in the other rooms. I'll face my door and I'll have connection. I'll do a 180 and have little to no connection. I'll try a different channel. I've reset the router and forget and setup the connection already. I'll try everything one more time. My last resort is to get a S6 which I really don't want to do

Turns out I had a faulty device. I exchanged it with a new one and everything is fine. Thanks everyone for the help!
