I've been out of the flashing ROMs game for a long time and looking for advice.

Apparently a ROM I want to use drops Widevine to L3. When I inquired if it can be patched for Widevine certification (that's the last form I remember back in the day), I was told the PlayProtect Integrity Module would fix it.
Firstly that seems incorrect to me as Widevine is deeper in the system than Play related components and it's a certification.

Everything I've searched either shows custom patches, patched ROMs, or people saying their bootloader unlock on unrelated devices didn't change Widevine which isn't helpful for my circumstance.

So how is Widevine properly restored if it drops to L3?

Wish I could help but been out the game awhile only flash stock firmware, your usual XDA which you already know
Shhhh don't say that 😜 , it's where I'm facing this debate. Ordinarily I'd just figure it out but being Samsung flashing makes me nervous and it's my mom's tablet. Deities forbid it doesn't work and i waste 2 days wiping her tablet and having to restore it as close to as she had it as possible. Not to mention id trip KNOX forever, not worth sacrificing of I can't get L1.

Maybe I'll jump in the mods lounge over there and ask to avoid conflict.
