Widgets freezing/not updating in 5.0.1

Had this problem for awhile now since I updated from kitkat. Widgets on my Nexus 7 will freeze after a few hours of the tablet being on, but not the stock widgets, very similar to an old thread in the Nexus 5 forums (which I can't link yet).

Any one else having this problem?
I've factory reset my tablet and everything, but the only temporary fix I've found so far is switching languages.

Welcome to Android Central! Which widgets? It's possible the apps those widgets belong to haven't had all of the bugs ironed out since Lollipop was released--you may want to email the developers of those apps.

It's happening to every widget I have, except for the stock clock widget.
You name it, weather network, downloaded clock widgets, google calendar, and even the gmail widget.

I guess I'll wait and see how they are after the next app updates I guess.

Ok, how about Safe Mode? Maybe there's a 3rd party app that is causing the problem. If the widgets for the preinstalled apps stop freezing, then you know that something you installed is causing the problem. https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2852139?hl=en
