I've been playing around with different phone settings in an attempt to gain some extra battery life. I know that the use of widgets can contribute to battery drain, so I've removed less important widgets and replaced them with short cuts wherever possible, ie, weather. But I've become very reliant upon having certain widgets on my default home page and was lost when I removed them for a trial period. I'm referring specifically to 3 widgets - the CalenGoo 1x2 agenda in scrolling mode, GTasks small todo list, and a volume toggle. Is this an unusual # of widgets for the average Android user? My battery life is mediocre. Is this setup just not realistic?
Widgets are the main reason I love Android. I have ADD, which in my case primarily manifests itself in organizational issues. Seeing my agenda and todo list the moment I turn on my phone is huge. Those widgests have actually drastically improved the way I manage my life since configuring them on my first Android two years ago. I guess for me, I'll have to sacrifice some battery life to keep them, but I'm just curious about how big a role they play on battery drain. Also, if anyone has any creative solutions to avoiding the use of widgets I'd love to hear them. As I said, I've been able to substitute shortcuts in some cases, but not all.
Thanks!
