Tap and hold on the widget, drag to top of the screen, and drop it in the trash can.

I see what you are referring to on the main screen, I am wanting to remove them from the widget screen

Thats where they always show when u install a widget program. They stay there for u to select from. Only to get rid of there is to actually uninstall the widget

Well widgets come bundled with with apps or by themselves. So say some staples like clock widget, you can't uninstall.
But say spotify/pandora widget, you would have to uninstall the app itself.
