Wierd/Odd soft Continual ring sound

Ok, so I was charging my Captivate...all of a sudden this soft very strange ring sound came out of the phone. I tried everything but it wouldn't stop. I turned off & on the phone, it still there, none stop. The ONLY way the phone doesn't have it, is on silent mode.....its not any type of a ring sound I have ever heard, its almost like a robotic sound.
I guess I will have to take it to AT & T on monday but I thought I'd ask & see if anyone has any ideas.

Well obviously I am the ONLY captivate owner that has ever had this issue. It finally quit after 9.5 hours. The ONLY way to silence it was on vibrate..and even if the phone rang, it still had that sound behind the ringtone...someone said it sounded like a fax machine....actually at the doctor's this morning and when they put the phones on hold, the reminder ring sounds EXACTLY like the ring I had for 9 1/2 hours......I can't wait until Captivate II......I want another phone...this version is too twisted for cable!
