So, my wife just text me and says she dropped EVO and screen shattered. What and how is the best way for her to get a new one. She has only had it for about a month now.

HELP!

The best way is to buy a new one...Pretty much, there's no way you can get a new one without paying.

File for divorce? Irreconcilable differences maybe?...... lol joking, like the other guy said, should be able to get it repaired for $35..... good luck

It's a policy change that was started late October. Physical damage excluding a damaged board or liquid damage is covered by Sprint. Free for ESRP folks, $35 flat fee if you don't have it.

This is for all phones, btw.

LOL! I just talked to her on the phone. She said she dropped it on bottom left corner and glass shattered. We ordered hers online and when she activated it they didn't offer it to her. Can I activate it over the phone or can she walk into a store and flash my phone and say she wants to add it???

I think that if you have the phone less than31 days you can still get TEP added to your plan.

Just call *2 and try to add insurance. Within 30-days you are free to add insurance. They don't have to see the phone. Just call, add it if possible, then take it in to be replaced.

Thats illegal dude lol. Not nice. Try telling him or his wife to take responsibility for their actions and replace what they damaged.

I would disagree. You have 30 days to add it. I'm not aware of any other stipulation. It's just taking advantage of the policy in place.

Just added TEP to the wifes phone. Now how long to wait before taking it in?

It takes about 10 minutes before it shows up in ETicket, the software that dictates how repair centers handle your account. Techs do not care or know when you added it.

Yeah, I'm gonna agree with this interpretation also. The only stipulation we know of is that you add the insurance within 30 days. I don't know of any stipulation concerning the condition of the phone at the time it's added. Now, if there is one, well I'm sure we would all agree you'd have to abide by it; but until I see any such thing, that's a nice little loop-hole he was able to take advantage of...good for him!

If Sprint doesn't like it, they'll have to change their policy and probably require a thorough inspection of any phone for which the owner is trying to add insurance after the initial purchase time. I really don't see them doing that.

I think you need to make a phone call with the newly insured phone before the insurance becomes valid.

I would imagine it's somewhat like loss leaders in retail. They would probably rather you sign up in hopes you don't cancel it. As long as it's not beyond repair (broken board, liquid damage) which it doesn't cover anyway, I bet they would take that gamble. You might not cancel and you're more likely to keep your contract going and stick around.
