If I'm on wifi should I turn mobile data off? I usually just turn wifi on and keep data on. Is this bad for battery?

No reason to turn it off. The phone will just use WiFi. You want mobile data on in the background because when you send a MMS (picture message or group message) text the phone has to use the mobile data connection in the background to send those things.

If my cellular is getting full bars should I still switch to wifi? I thought wifi was better for battery.

A strong LTE signal is just as good as wifi nowadays.
