by occasionally I mean it has happened twice in about two weeks.

I'll notice I'm not getting any connectivity off of wifi. I've verified it is still running well with other devices.

I go to setting and toggle off the wifi, to try to get it to reset. When I try to toggle it back on, it takes a long time, then reports "error".

At this point I haven't found anything that will get it back other than rebooting the phone. When I do it comes back fine, no trouble.

You should run alogcat (free in market) and look for any items in the log mentioning wifi or wpa_supplicant.

There is probably more going on than you are explaining.
For instance, go to settings, and watch the wifi line, (or tap that line and watch the connection process). Sometimes you will see activity there that helps explain what is going on. Such as looping or such. Often it is dependent on the type of wifi security you have.

This seems more prevalent on the international version than the AT&T version but it can occur on either.

And for the record, if you have one of these situations, factory reset will not help. Never be too quick to follow suggestions to factory reset. Android isn't Windows.

Hey, I'm facing a weird problem since the update. My Wi-Fi signal drops and I don't get the signal in places I used to get before.... Something is wrong cause my arc runs fine on Wi-Fi.
This problem occurred today afternoon...
What can I do?
And I'm running 4.0.4

I am experiencing pretty much the same wifi issue as you. Anybody have any ideas?

Kritin,
Did they.tell you what was wrong and what they did.to.correct it. Please share that info.

Nope.
The problem here is that HTC only has collection centers and no service centres. Hence the people in the collection centres cant spell 'HTC'.
I'm living with the fact that my phone works perfectly as before...:D
