Wifi Calling Battery usage

How is the battery usage when you have Wifi calling enabled versus disabled? I get at least 2 bars where I am , so the phone works harder when on low signal and consumes more battery. Has anyone noticed improvement on battery with Wifi calling?

I get NO bars on AT&T at my house so I have no choice but to use WiFi calling while at home. It does improve the battery life but there are times when I've noticed more battery drainage even though I barely touched the phone for most of the day.

Nothing can ever beat the battery life that I get on T-Mobile with WiFi turned off with 5 bars of signal no matter what phone I use.

If you LTE signal is crap wifi calling will help. If it's a strong LTE signal it won't really matter. A strong LTE signal and strong wifi signal are about the same drain.

I'm not sure if wifi calling would be seen on this statistics for wifi apps being used in settings>connection>data scroll to the bottom

I'm not so sure about that. If I user my at& Sim on my S10+, I can go shoot 2 days if I'm lucky in one charge because I get no service at my house so I have to use wifi calling.

Switch to T-Mobile and my battery life doubled in the same phone and I can 4 days on my S10+ which T-Mobile had an excellent signal here.

This occurs on any phone I try these carriers on so it's not just one phone.

I don't know how you get 2 or 4 days out of a phone on one charge.

My Note 9 in T-Mobile just got 4 days, 23 hrs on one battery charge and my S10+ on T-Mobile just got 3 days, 16 hrs on one charge while my Note 8 on AT&T got 1 day, 17 hrs on one charge using WiFi calling.

I started noticing T-Mobile have me better better life back in 2011 when I took my at&t iPhone 4S and went to T-Mobile and got two days in one charge when I couldn't even get one day on at&t.

No no. Reread what I wrote. I said an equal strong LTE to wifi signal will give good battery life. As in if you have excellent LTE like you do on T-Mobile you can then not care about using WiFi since they will use the same drain.

You are confusing the two. Even with wifi calling if you have a crap LTE signal the phone radio still looks for signal and that is where the drain is. My comment before was strictly if they're equal you will see the same since they don't drain much. Obviously a weak signal will drain more since the radio tries harder. That's why I didn't say wifi calling would solve a drain.. I said it would "help" versus relying solely on the cell signal.
