My Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phone running Andriod 5.1.1 drops the wifi calling when the phone is not being used.
The wifi calling drops at least once a day when the phone is not in use. So far, no calls have been dropped when in use.
The internet provider is Comcast Xfinity.
I can re-enable the wifi calling by toggling the airplane mode on then off. The wifi calling comes back up in seconds.
Does anyone have a solution to prevent the wifi from dropping when the phone is not in use? This makes the phone
unreliable for incoming calls. MetroPCS has not been of any real assistance for the past two months.
Thank-you
Jay

Does it happen on any WiFi network? That would help determine if the issue is with the phone or with the network/router.

I can call out over other networks. I have not left the phone in standby long enough with other networks. It may disconnect in
a few minutes or several hours. Sometimes it does not disconnect. Have not been able to establish a pattern. I believe my
cell provider is t-mobile (used by MetroPCS).

Might be a stability issue with T-Mobile's WiFi calling servers, but no way to tell if it's that or your network unless it happens with a different router/provider.

Hey guys, I'm having the same issue. I noticed this hasn't been resolved yet. But has anyone come across any further steps, or have any good information from calling officail lines? My mom doesn't understand that technology can be fishy, and she is convinced spending lots of money will finish the issue. But then I'll get in trouble for putting her in a situation to spend lots of money, or I'll get in trouble for not being able to be reached 24/7.

So. some questions. Will buying a new phone fix this issue? I live way out in the mountains, and get no service otherwise. Also, I am on t-mobiles prepaid plan, versus their choice plan. Does anyone think that is an issue? Or does is it most likely the servers in the area I live at, like mentioned?
