Wifi calling not working with AT&T

Just a FYI. Received and set up my 3a today. My regular Pixel 3 works fine with Wifi calling.

In fact the new 3a shows up on my account as unknown device. That's the indication that AT&T doesn't have any support for it.

It will be interesting to see if that changes. My experience is that AT&T can be slow about adding support for phones, even phones they sell.

Not questioning your findings (others have reported the same); however, I have read at least two reports on xda and one on reddit (I believe) where wifi calling is said to be working. In at least two cases, a current AT&T sim that already had wifi calling was used. It will be at least a week before my 3a arrives to find out. I use AT&T prepaid and have finally gotten wifi calling on my iPhone SE regardless of which our sims is put into the phone. I do not (and do not expect to) have wifi calling on my hardware-capable Z3 Play which is why I ordered this Nexus 5X replacement. I just wish I had remembered about this phone before I purchased the Z3 Play exactly 2 months ago. Oh, well. It's a very sturdy phone with the battery mod which I haven't even needed so far so, along with the sd card slot, it makes for a great travel device.

Don't think I will take a chance in getting the 3a then. Wi-Fi calling is a big deal for me. Hate to be somewhere like a hospital and cannot get a signal. That is where Wi-Fi calling can be clutch.

*Update* I currently own a pixel 3a now and have both the WiFi calling and HD voice on it from At&t.

What plan from AT&T includes WiFi calling for the Pixel3a? The salesman at my local AT&T store put his own sim in my phone but could not enable Wifi calling so sent me away saying it was not supported for the Pixel3a.

I have an unlimited plan but it shouldn't matter which plan you are on. He probably couldn't find it the settings. go to mobile network, then advanced, and it's towards the bottom.
