Wifi connection failed

I keep getting wifi connection failed like when I'm in range at home or at work then when I hit connect it works? Not sure what's going on with wifi on the G5

When I change my wifi router settings to high performance mode over 5ghz the phone has a hard time detecting it. My jtc m8 didn't. I think the lg isn't as flexible as a fully stock android should be due to either propriety components or drivers. I say this because the ir blaster on thr lg is propriety and doesn't allow led lights to work for example. Wouldn't doubt it's similar with other components.
