Wifi Connection Help

Hey guys got my GNex today, loving it so far! Only problem i'm having right now (besides the low speaker volume/low signal strength, but i can live with those) is when i turn on the wifi, it won't connnect to my home connection. I know my home wifi is fine because im on my laptop on it right now, and sitting right next to the router. The bigger problem is I can't get it to show a list of any connections. I tried googling my way to the solution, but everything keeps talking about "advanced wifi settings" but i can't even find "wifi settings". can someone please walk me through a step by step here? i've read the user manual and a few posts, and this is my fourth android phone, so i should be able to figure it out but its killing me lol please help!

To get to WiFi settings, go to settings and tap on Wifi. (The word, not the On/Off switch). You can go to advanced from those three dots on the bottom right.

You're not alone. It took me a minute to find it myself. My g/f's Atrix 2 has a separate link for WiFi options (apart from the ON/OFF toggle). I've learned quickly to try tapping on everything.
