Wifi has strong signal, yet my galaxy s III's wifi page results an error message to the effect of: 'weak signal, connection failed'

I have an intermittent issue with my wifi. Wifi at home and work is inconsistent (yet works on all my other devices without interruption, e.g. laptops and other mobile devices).

I found one response to a similar query which indicated to clear the data for a 'google services framework' application, yet this came to no avail for my issue.

Thus far, I have had no issues with Wifi. Have you tried to forget the network and add it again?

My home WiFi at times can be sorta weak. Mainly because its a few rooms over. Where as the HOX never had an issue with it that I could find. Either way it works most of the time for me so I am not to worried about it.

i've had issue with wifi sometimes not connecting. the signal is strong and it'll just cycle through scanning. it'll only connect after turning off and on the wifi a few times.

I am having the same problem, no connection at all, I then I manually reboot and re scan. There is definitely something wrong with my phone. I've owned many phones and this is new for me. At the moment it is working, and but 20 minutes later it will stop and I won't have moved off my couch.

My wife and I both have wifi issue. Signal is connected and great, don't use the phone for a little while and then it will not reconnect. Will say it is not in range. Turn wifi off and then back on and it connects right away. Definitely something in reconnecting.

I have tried the always on fix...did not work. Tried setting static IP on router and phone...did not work.

This is very annoying.

You might try this.

The default for the phone evidently is to have WiFi in Power Save mode which puts it to sleep from time to time. There was a post on another thread which pointed to the following:

1. Open up the Galaxy S3 phone dialer
2. Then dial *#0011#
3. Look for the “ServiceMode” screen and press the left menu button
4. Select “WiFi”
5. You should see that the “WiFi Power Save Mode” button is “ON” – now put it on “OFF”
6. Your done! Just exit the menu, switch off your WiFi, then switch it back on again. If your router details are saved and automatically connects, get your Galaxy S3 to forget or delete the network information. Then reconnect, putting in all the required information.

I had times when I would see the WiFi re-connect. I did the above and I have not seen it since.
