I'm really thinking that the reality here maybe the mere fact that using these 4G LTE phones on a 3G network may be the cause of many issues being reported.. just sayin...

My first EVO 4G LTE definitely had a problem holding onto wifi signals. It would lose its connection in the middle of downloads, browsing, sitting doing nothing, whatever. Enabling the "Best wi-fi performance" setting helped maintain connectivity but made a huge negative difference in battery life.

I didn't try any pinch or squeeze tricks, but I did exchange it. Replacement had no wifi problems at all.
