Wifi Hotspot Not Working! :(

So I have the evo v 3d 4g rooted with a custom recovery and superuser. It is the overstock sprint model with the sprint logo top right. I can not get WiFi tether to work! It keeps shutting off my data connection when activated. Will the WiFi hotspot only work on a custom Rom or whatsup??

Also, I'm on the stock rom and custom apps such as WiFi tether for root users do not work.

Try Wifi Hotspot and USB Tether, works great and no root necessary.

I have a sprint overstock phone running midnight rom and the wifi tether for root users works fine on mine, just make sure that you change the profile to "generic ICS/JB (wlan0)" and it should work.
