WiFi Issue?

Looking for some insight here...

I find that my Incredible doesn't get a very solid signal.

Example....

at home, it shows a solid signal and connects without issue... The router is about 100 feet away.

at a friends house, it shows only a fair signal, yet the router is only about 100 feet away and has a problem connecting due to low signal.

Now.... I use my laptop at both these locations and have no problem when using WiFi.... get's a solid signal all the time.

Also.... I notice I get a stronger WiFi signal is I hold the phone from the bottom. If I hold the phone at the top, the signal drops...

So.... anyone have any ideas?
