Lost wifi connection two days in a row.
We have at&t u verse but its technical dsl since the area we live in doesn't offer the fiber optic version... 6 mb download speed..

It has happen while my daughter has been using the wifi watching YouTube while upstairs router is downstairs . But this never happened with my LG G3 it would lag and seem to just try and load the app or video but not turn off then on... I don't have to manually turn it back on it just turns off and then on.. Settings are correct the router/modem is new and up to date..

You mention the router is downstairs and she is upstairs. Interference could be causing the issues. (home wiring, building materials, other wifi signals on the same channel)
It seems the LG was having similar issues because the video would lag. While the signal was weak enough to keep connected it was not strong enough to give you a clean signal and thus poor throughput.
Now that you on a device manufactured by a different company with different materials and different design, your seeing the Neuxs 6 disconnect and re-connect when it can.
Bottom line, if it connects fine down stairs and works well then its an issue with placement of the router. You may need to move it to get better upstairs signal, or get a bridge for upstairs or a repeater for wifi. The good news is you have options to fix it.
I use an app called WiFi analyser to see the signal strength as well as look at adjacent traffic to see if my device has co-channel interference.
Also 2.4ghz will travel further then 5gh.

Hey on a side note, and you may need to send me my response privately, what are your upload speeds and ping times?
Im considering switching from Time Warner Cable to ATT Uverse ADSL. But i read they limit total usage to 250GB or 350GB per month.
Do you know if you have ever exceeded that cap? do they enforce it?

@B. Diddy ... Here is how i have it set... Frequency band is set to auto.. I set it 2.4

Good thoughts from IAmSixNine. By the way, you may want to edit or remove that image--you generally don't want to expose your MAC address to the general public.

Mine started this about a week ago. Both 2.5 and 5 gHz. Turns off for a few seconds then back on like nothing happened. Had since December and this is new

Girlfriend has a note 3 it looses connection but reconnect with out a issue... But she cant send pictures.. File is small

whats the brand of the wifi device your connecting to?
Ive come across some HTC devices that dont like D-Link, thats just an example.
At my place my Time Warner Cable is a Netgear unit, that goes into my ASUS AC1900 i got from T-Mobile and that also has a D-Link attached to it.
Yeah i know running 3 wifi at one apt is overkill but some devices work better / worse with some phones. So im covered.

Hummm...
So an LG G3 has issues, note 3 has issues.
Not sure how well you are at setting up network stuff but might be time to buy a router and hook it up and see if your device connects to that properly.
You can set it up to where the Moto ATT stuff is the primary DHCP unit and the wifi unit you buy can be set up as a pass thru device by turning off the router portion of it. Im doing a bad job explaining it. sorry. If someone else can chime in here to fill in what i might be missing.

Something else thats odd is your description of the youtube problem.
You say "my youtube videos in landscape mode half the screen freezes up 90% of time it'll be playing the video and bottom half of freeze the top will continue to play" To me thats odd. That might actually be a device issue and not a wifi issue. However if the device can not get data or interpret the data correctly it may cause the software glitch your referring to.

So if it was me, i would start to look at connecting and testing with different wifi unit. Test it at work, or friends Wifi, or someplace with a known reliable network / connection. This too will help us to eliminate either a phone issue or a Moto att router problem.

Conclusion.....
Went to AT&T they referred to there drc(device resolution center).

The tech ran my device on there wifi for 20 minutes viewing you tube.

The techs conclusion was.

Its the u verses router not my phone if there was a antenna issue it would have acted up while on there wifi which he stated my device wasn't the only one running off there wifi..

Youtube issue believed to be a cache issue and 5.0.1 glitch....

logical conclusion.

Youtube buffering might be a bug in 5.0.1 but thats not related to loosing connection to the wifi its self. So your talking about 2 different problems.
but i still think its sound logic on the testing he did.

@IAmSixNine..

Router is the culprit
