Wifi Issue

I've done some searching with the search function, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I have a EVO running the latest version of Fresh. The wifi worked fine up until about 2 weeks ago, now all it does is scan, connect, get IP, then starts scanning again. So its a endless loop. My 4g is working fine but I do not have it at my house so this is getting annoying using the 3g.

I'm trying to figure this out with out having to do a wipe. Can someone maybe point me in the right direction or tell me something to try..

Thanks

Does your EVO connect to other wifi hotspots?

Have you tried just going to wifi settings and resetting? Maybe something got corrupted with the password.

I haven't tried connecting to another wifi network yet, Haven't been close to another. Every thing else in my home works on wifi, computes, tv, ps3, Iphone. All are fine.

How do I reset my wifi settings? I couldn't find any options for resetting..
Thanks

Go to your wifi settings, where you setup wifi on your EVO. I can't remember exactly where it is on a Sence ROM... its been a bit since I've run one. But anyway just tap your wifi there and have it forget your home hotspots and then reenter your password. See if that works.

You should go somewhere with free wifi... there's got to be a StarBucks near you.... there freckin everywhere....lol. See if you can hookup there. Then at least you'll know its not a hardware issue.

I am guessing that you are rooted being you posted in this section. Also most likely running a custom rom. I have had my WiFi get broken after a flash. Fixed it by wiping cache and dalvik and reflash the Kernel.

Yes i'm rooted, and running FRESH rom. I rooted and flashed the roms many of times before, but am not sure what a kernel is? Or how to flash just the kernel or how to know which on to flash? Thank you by the way

A kernel is sort of like a driver on your home CPU. It lets your OS communicate and operate with your hardware.

Go to Fresh's forum thread and look to see what kernel's work with your rom version. Read up on what the different kernels offer and what ones work well with your build(002,003...) some work better than others.

To flash a kernel, its perrty much the same as flashing a rom.

Download the kernel you want to flash.

Boot in to recovery.

Then do a nandroid back up(should be second mature).

Now wipe cashe, davik cashe(most kernels have a script that does this so you don't really have to) and wipe battery stats.

Now flash your kernel and reboot.

Let us know how it works out.

I had this same problem, but it connects to other networks, just not my home network.

That's weird.... do you have any other device with wifi? Do they work with your home wifi?

Have you tried doing what I posted above? Some times things will get a little messed up... it happens.
