wifi issues & Questions (DINC)

My issue:
I have had an issue with my Droid Incredible where it does not seem to want to connect to my network. The network does not broadcast the SSID but I have connected to it with my MacBook and my iPod Touch with no real issues. The DINC only says it remembers it but its always out of range. Anyone have any idea what could be happening here?

The other question I had was this:
I know that having a low/weak signal will drain your battery faster. At my work all carriers have poor reception including Verizon. Would turning on my wifi and connecting to my work's wifi so that it isn't constantly looking for 3G help my battery at all? I want to keep the radios on for calls and texts in case someone needs me but my battery is draining pretty rapidly.

Double check your settings/input info, I had sim prob turned out I kept puttin an "space" in password.

not sure if it will save you juice, at home my sig strength was around 100dBm ate my battery, bat usage was 60% searching for signal, I got vzw network extender solved my at home probs now sig is in 60dBm range
without extender your phone will still be searching for "voice" signal even with wifi going strong

You might look at you and vzw friends chipping in for one? $100 after rebate , I've even read of some companies springing for one

Checked signal strength and no luck. Can't seem to figure it out.
