Wifi keeps turning itself on.

I'm hoping I just have the setting wrong somewhere but it seems lately that my wifi keeps turning on by itself if I'm in the car at work or even At home. I also noticed that Google Play is running in the background no matter how many times I close the application.

I'm pretty sure these are just settings I have wrong but I'm thinking other people are having these issues too from what I'm seeing on the previous threads.

Android it designed to detect WiFi networks and connect over cell. Sometimes I have to go into settings connections and turn it off.

There are things that run in the background and are part of Google services.

The Wi-Fi turning itself on is likely due to the Sprint Connections Optimizer. You can turn this off. I've typed out how many, many times. The search function will be your friend with this one.

I'm pretty sure that's it because I was going through all sorts of settings and find that and it seems to be working just fine now. Although more I just need to figure out why Google play keeps running no matter how many times I close the application?

IF you don't ever use Google Play, can you find it in Application Manager, tap Uninstall Updates, then tap Disable.

You may have it set to update apps automatically. You'll definately want to disable that setting.

I use Google Play daily, either in the car with bluetooth listening to my music that way or at home on bluetooth as well. But its in those in between times when im at work or not listening, no matter how many times i stop the application or quit it, it will still pop up as running. Even disabled the auto install new apps as well. Hmmmm
