WiFi Not Connecting After Wake

Whenever I let my KFHD7" sleep with an app (browser included) open, I can't get connection when I wake it. The WiFi icon shows that I'm connected but nada as far as connectivity. To fix it, I have to put it into Airplane Mode and then back into regular mode.

Anyone got any ideas?

Sorry, no ideas; but felt compelled to share my issues. Last weekend in a hotel, I was connected to their WiFi, but the notification bar icon had an x on it and I couldn't do anything online all day Saturday. At the same time my Xoom and a friend's GTab connected without issue. The problem disappeared on Sunday, but I never figured out why...
