It didn't bug me as much as some people, but sometime today that "ongoing" WiFi notification disappeared from the notification bar and stayed gone even after a restart.

Are you currently connected to WiFi?

I thought it goes away when you're on Wifi, but shows when you aren't. I dunno, I refuse to sign into Wifi because I hear once you start, it will nag you to sign into a recognized network. Meh. :-(

If you found the golden ticket though, please do follow up! I'm dying to get rid of it.

Phone has been on 4g since i posted the message above, still no wifi notification. But you are correct, there is a window that pops up all the time nagging me to sign in to a known network... Which in my opinion is even worse! :banghead:

If there isn't a toggle then I'd rather have the notification. But I friggin' HATE the pop up!! I didn't turn you on do don't ask!

Mine is gone too. I just went into WiFi setthings and unchecked the notify option and then went into PhD advanced section and unchecked the auto connect option. Now I have no more pontificate ok n window or prompts and jus t use my power controls WiFi toggle on the home screen to turn it on or fog. There was no reason for Verizon to remove it from the toggle bar. Maybe they will add it back in a future update.

No toggle, so i'd rather have the notification too.

I have yet to see the pop up. It is sitting in my notifications, but if it never pops up, I don't really care. I've used YouTube, Dropbox, Stitcher and Pandora, so it isn't like I haven't opened some "data intensive" apps. I haven't even looked at the settings.

I will add that I haven't connected to wifi at all or even turned it on. I suppose I should to make sure it works.

Consider yourself lucky. The pop up is horrible

For those who are getting pop ups, do you have notify me option unchecked in wifi setting?

I am not getting them with it unchecked except when I open the play store app for the first time after a reboot.

Unchecked the "notify me" option and still getting the pop ups.

If you have a saved wifi network you will get the pop up. Long press on a saved network to hit forget network and you will no longer get the pop up. Do this to all saved wifi networks and the pop up does not appear.

I removed my known networks... so I don't get the pop anymore.
The 4G is equally as fast as any of my wifi spots... and I'm gonna get my moneys worth out of my last 2yrs of unlimited wifi.

For those who are getting wifi pop ups, open up your phone's dial and enter *#6335623# and disable wifi offloading. This will remove wifi pop ups for good! (got this info at a different thread)
