Don't know if everyone knows this so Ill post. This will work for any phone not just the echo.

I plan on cancelling my phone soon and switching to a mobile broadband hotspot.

If you use google voice you know you can get a free phone number. I already have g voice number so I will use that with the echo. There's an app u can get called GrooveIP that basically routs calls from a number to where you want. You associate your google voice number with grooveip and then I have a working phone. As long as my echo has an internet connection I can make and receive calls, that's where the hotspot comes in. So now, I can pay a cheaper bill and still have a phone with internet.

The great thing is that grooveIP has its own native dialer so I could use that app on my xoom as well. I could associate my xoom with same phone number and be able to make calls on my tablet as well with the same number. I already receive my sms on my xoom just by having a google voice number.

I ordered the sprint overdrive from ebay, I should receive it soon and ill post how it is.
