While attempting to connect to my home wifi, my bionic always says connected but the wifi icon remains grey. The wifi symbol rarely turns blue and lets me use my wifi and I have to reconnect every time I leave the house. I am trying to connect to a netgear router with wpa/wpa2. Anyone have this problem?

I may have a fix for you. I had the same problem with my Bionic. It would connect to my wifi but would not stay connected or work very long. What you have to do is change your router wireless security settings. It is more then likely set to WPA2-Personal. You need to change it to WPA-Personal. I haven't had any wifi problems since I did that.

Hope this helps you out.

**Edit - The issue with connecting to WPA2 is not just with the Bionic. It is a known issue with many devices.

having same problem. thanks for the advice tydek, will try when I get home

I doubt that is the crux of the problem, despite someone else having luck with that fix. You might start by resetting the router to factory settings. Some routers can be pretty flaky and require reboots, but when reboots don't clear out all the issues, a reset may get you smoother performance. Been there-done that--I've owned many routers and have seen all sorts of connectivity issues, like the router will have great connectivity at some point in time to most of the wifi devices in my home, yet won't connect others to the internet. A reboot resolves the issue. Router tech needs more smart people to get all these annoyances ironed out! :)

I'll try rebooting the router too but all my other devices connect to the router just fine. I don't have any limit on #of devices either
