Wifi scan not working

For some reason, my wifi stopped working. It was working perfectly for the past month (just got a hand-me-down Droid), but it stopped working yesterday. I was connecting to both my home and work wifi networks without issue.

Now, it seems like the wifi isn't turning on at all. When I go to settings, it is checked, but "Disconnected". When I turn it off, then back on again, it says "Connecting?" for a minute or so, and then just goes back to disconnected.

I've tried Wifi Scanner, with similar results. Any ideas?

Does it say its disconnected on networks you have been successfully connected to? The OG won't connect to WPA networks, it has to be WPA2.

Yeah, any network (even routers that I'm standing next to) it says that I'm not in range. Doesn't find networks at all, WPA or otherwise.

Did you ever resolve this problem? I have exactly the same problem just out of the blue on my rooted nook color. No updates were made, nothing. Just rebooted and wallah, no wifi. "Out of range" when i'm 2 ft from router.
Thanks

No, I haven't really found a solution. The only thing that seems to fix it is flashing a new rom. Not an ideal solution, to be sure.

I've had this exact same thing happen. Rooted DROID I (aka OG DROID) running CyanogenMod. I'm within range of 3 different wireless broadcasting routers and none of them are showing up as in range (including the one right next to me). This makes me doubt that it's a router issue. Also, I just updated CyanogenMod on Sunday, so that may be part of the issue. So far, "Forgetting" the connection info has done nothing but cause the network to no longer show up at all on my list of wireless networks. They don't even show up to re-add it.

I also used ROM Manager to "Fix Permissions" and rebooted the phone.

I had to restore my previous ROM and it seems to have worked. (works running CyanogenMod-7.1.0-Droid)...For now...

Today it stopped working again, but it turns out that it stopped working when I was trying to connect to a router that had no internet connection. I fixed it by making sure the router had internet connection, re-entering the WAP password for that connection (even though it hadn't changed), and then turning wifi on and off a few times (as quickly as it would allow).

This seems to have repaired the problem...

...once again, for now.
