WIFI Scanning

I noticed that when wifi is turned on, it scans for networks constantly. Even if you are connected to a network already. Seems to me that constant scanning would drain battery. If you are connected, then why would you need the phone to keep scanning?

You are wrong, to put it bluntly.
When you are connected to a network it just stays connected, but when you open up your wi-fi settings it'll automatically scan for new networks it can connect to, to be convenient for the user in case they need to connect to another network.
Then when you lose connectivity, it scans for new ones.

Alright, so it only scans when you have the Wireless Settings open? That sounds more like it. Thanks.
