Okay so I got the phone and loved it but HATED Sprint so we went back to AT&T and our iPhones. The good thing though is that my wife liked the Edge and we think we may get some on AT&T. The thing with Sprint was they had wifi calling and texting whereas AT&T does not yet. Is there a texting app that uses our phone numbers and can text other people via wifi. Like if my mother in law sent us a message in a group message to our cell numbers and then we didn't have service but had wifi and we could still communicate. Any input would help. Thanks!

Can someone please recommend anything that works? Tried Hangouts and Google Voice and couldn't figure it out. Need this to get the wife to convert.

Nothing that will work with existing number. But u could use a Google voice number and use WiFi with it

I used a Google Voice Number as my ONLY number since 2007. The only 2 complaints I have about it is that Mms/group texts get split up and only let you respond to the original sender - also all the responses people will send to the group text come in as individual threads. The other part I don't like, which seems to be a new thing, is that photos sent via Google voice have horrible quality.

Won't let me edit but felt I should add something - RECEIVING photos hasn't been an issue

These are huge drawbacks for a lot of people.
