Is there away to automatically have the wifi switch to the strongest signal?

Mine does that anyway. I have 4 access points in my house, 2 5GHz and 2 2.4GHz, and when I walk in my GNex automatically latches onto the strongest.

No. It's been happening that way since day 1. I honestly hadn't ever given it any thought until I read your question.

I do however wish there was a way to set it to prefer the 5GHz signal over the 2.4GHz. Under advanced in the wi-fi settings you can only have it automatically select or choose 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
