Will 4k or 60fps/120fps slowmo video recording be possible on N5?

Since the Note 3 and G2 are capable of shooting 4k video and slowmo I'm wondering will the Nexus 5 be capable of this as well? I'm thinking the camera sensor should be able to capture it, and the processor should be plenty powerful... so it's just software. Am I wrong in thinking this?

I don't know if the Android stock camera can do this already, but if not, would someone be able to hack it eventually to make it work?

I also made a thread in the photography lounge but I don't know how active that forum is...

Why are you thinking the sensor should be able to capture it? If that were correct the S4 would be capable of it as well. I'm not so sure its just software.

Because the sensor is able to capture 8 (or more for those other flagships) megapixel still photos and I think some of them can shoot fast bursts even. I'm thinking the only limiting factor is really the processing power, which most of the current flagship phones seem to be plenty capable if some of them can shoot slowmo or 4k video. The iPhone 5s can shoot 120fps video.

I'm a photographer who shoots with SLRs and ever since they've gotten video capabilities it's been interesting watching what hackers can do with the hardware. Cameras like the Canon 5D Mark II and III have huge full frame sensors yet they can only record 1080p video by default. The hackers have been creating custom firmware to do more like making them record video in higher resolution, but I believe the limiting factor for those hardware is the processing power and/or the write/read speed of the media (CF or SD cards).

I'm not an engineer so I won't even pretend to know the exact specs of the Nexus 5, but I'm assuming since it has one of the fastest processors currently for smartphones, shouldn't it be able to handle recording higher res or higher framerate video?

I have an iPhone 5s (at least for right now) and I've not even tried the slo-mo. My beloved little boy would probably look pretty cool to me in slo-mo.

what do you mean, the G2?? if the G2 had a 720P 120fps slo-mo i would have bought it. it doesn't unfortunately.
the NOTE 3 slo-mo is crap compared to the 5S great quality (probably the A7 processor doing it better than the snapdragon)

I didn't realize that the Note 3 could do this until now. Thanks.
