will a custom rom remove my metropcs settings?

I have a EVO Shift that has been flashed to MetroPcs.
When I got it, it was temp rooted- But I've done the permanent root since then.
I've also installed Titanium Backup (paid version) and Rom manager.

Before I start playin around w/custom rom's, I want to make sure that I wont somehow loose the metropcs programming.
I had a Touch-pro, But that was a windows device. I knew how to get to all programming screens, and had all the info to keep everything running on metropcs.

But this is my first android based phone, and I haven't found any info about programming everything to work on metropcs.

Since everything works now - I really want to keep it that way.
The only issues I'm having.
1.- I have no indication of new voicemail.
2.- I dont get a 4g connection.

So, are the currently available roms, sprint specific roms?
I understand that most, if not all, of the roms are at their infancy. And that they all seem to have bugs of some sort.

Also, since I'm not a Sprint customer, I probably should NOT allow the mandatory (Sprint) voicemail update, right?
I keep getting a notification about the update, and havent figured out how to turn it off (the notification) for good.

Thanks for any and all info

"Metro Shifters" - cool title!

Yeah, I'm well aware of the "no 4g" situation, and I can live without 4G speeds.
When I consider how much less my bill is w/metro, it's a compromise I'm willing to make. (besides, it's still lightning fast @ 3G).

I'm probably gonna try a couple within the next day or two. Then I'll post the outcome here, for other Metro Shifters.

You CAN connect to Sprint's 4G while the phone is on Metro. I saw it with my own eyes this weekend. I am trying to figure out what allows this phone to connect, but I've had no luck so far with my searches. I tried a ##3283# to check the WiMax settings as I had access to 3 different Evos that are on Metro, but I saw no differences between the settings of the one that did work in comparison to the ones that didn't work.

I started a thread on XDA today hoping to get some help, but no luck yet. I'm thinking I may need a version of QPST or CDMA workshop that can read/write WiMax settings, but I cannot confirm this as I am not an expert by any means. I can tell you with 100% certainty that it IS possible to do. The real question is how.

Hopefully someone that sees this can chime in and provide some insight.

Not possible

Okay 2-3 things, if you want to get your internet settings to work you can just load zip from clockwork mod recovery after you load a rom.
Then you do the same thing to get sms to work, now about the voicemail, well cm7 givea you the voicemail prompts just fine as long as you dont mind a dead cam.
So while you cant keep your settings, you can flash them right back.
I know because i did my evo 4g all by myself, its really easy and i already had all the tools at hand from my winmo times.
Now if you have a doubt about 4g, its impossible.
The reason being that 4g is actually different equipment, if you turn on your 4g you can actually connect to sprint. It will however give you the option to try for one day, and i havent tried to go too past that.
There are two 4g systems, one is wimax the other lte. metropcs and sprint dont use the same system. If anything a thunderbolt may be possible, but there is a lot more that comes into play. From messing around with my evo, it is common knowledge that you need encryption keys. If you loose them your 4g is hoosed, i dont know if metropcs or lte uses encryption keys.
In other words, right now its not possible to mess with 4g, but you can get your evo shift back on the net with zip files. I have had bad experiences with metrodroid, so i dont recomend it.
