Will a factory reset remove root?

I rooted my Note 3 with a rooter that said it did not trip the knox. Now I am having problems with my camera not focusing. This was not from the root, I was having the issue before rooting. I bought the phone second hand and I called samsung. I have not installed custom roms or anything like that. Just installed some software that had to have root access to work. They sent me a ups tag and said they would reflash the device for me. I am thinking to be on the safe side, I better remove the root. Will a factory reset remove the root?

Any advice before I send it in?

Thanks for any help

Usually root doesn't get removed by a reset. How did you root the device? An application?

From an AOSP M8

I think I may have solved it. I used towelroot to root the phone. I opened supersu and looked in the settings and there was a place to remove root access. After that, I did a factory reset to wipe all data. Now when the phone starts up, it doesnt show "Custom Rom" anymore.
