Hi.

I live in Bangladesh and my father lives in Turkey. He wants to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 for me which can only be activated with a SIM card issued from a mobile operator within some Middle East and North Africa countries including of course, Turkey. So he plans to activate it in Turkey and then send the phone to me here in Bangladesh. However, if I have to factory-reset the phone for some reason, will the country activation be cancelled and I have to send it back to him in Turkey to reactivate it?

And is there any other reason why this might be a bad idea? Or is it a good idea without any problems?

Thanks.

Country activation is only used the first time a SIM card is used with the phone. Once this is done, the phone can be exported elsewhere and used normally, even after a factory reset. However, you probably will have to remove the network lock on the phone, which is something different from country lock. You can get the network unlock code from some unlock code providers on the internet. Google is your friend for that. :)

Let us know how it goes.
