Will enabling USB debug/developer mode remove ability to upgrade software?

"your device has been modified. Software updates are not available" came up today when checking for software update.

I have yet to root this tablet or do anything else potentially warranty-breaking to it.

Can enabling that mode trip the system?

I did download ROM MANAGER that I bought a long time ago, but as this thing isn't rooted it can't do diddles... or shouldn't be able to...

Try turning off developer options and then check for software updates and see what comes back...
