Will Evo 4G USB car charger work with SGS3?

My wife and I have preordered Galaxy S3s. We currently have Evo 4Gs and generic car chargers. Both plug into the lighter socket and one is an inverter with an AC and USB socket while the other is a cheap USB adapter. Are the cables used to charge the Evos the same as those for the S3 or will we need new cables?

Thanks in advance.

I've got a 5v 2.1A charger for my EVO 4G and while it charges the EVO fine it gets wonky on my Work phone Samsung Infuse. It charges it but when the battery is fully drained it takes a while to charge it to the point it can power it on. *shrugs* Take from that what you will. :)

I sure hope so...I have a ton of cables and adapters from previous phones...

I would think they do. Only way to know is to test it.

Typically speaking yes, it'll work no problem. With that said, i have a cable that won't charge my NS4G but has worked on 10 phones before and several after. Wall adapter was eliminated from being the problem (which would be more likely the culprit) and the cable just won't charge that single phone. ::shrugs::

P.S. Shop around and you can find them for $15ish including shipping but it'll be the best $15 you spend

Yes

This is a micro USB (type B) cable. The Evo 4G uses this type to charge. The GS3 also uses this. It might charge slowly however, because it takes quite a bit of charge to replenish the mobil's battery. That would be a problem with your car, meaning you'd have to use a wall outlet.

You can find good car chargers that'll do 950ma out. While thats half of the wall charger i posted above, it's still equal to most OEM wall chargers and in some cases greater than low end generic ones.

When i plug in it's usually for 20 or 30 min as im usually on the run so i try to get as much juice as possible.

Cables are normally fine...Its the wall charger that you need to worry about.

Check both voltages BEFORE using it. Be warned!
