Hi. I just unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone, or so I thought. I ran root checker after I could not get busybox installer to work on my phone. It seems I have an incomplete root. Will a factory reset remove the root but leave the bootloader unlocked? Thanks for any help.

Do you have the All in One Toolkit installed on the PC? [TOOL] HTC One X (Evita) All-In-One Toolkit V2.1.1 [2-1-2013] [PERM ROOT][Noob-Proof] - xda-developers if not install it, flash the recovery, then flash the under the "extras" box on the toolkit flash the "perm root" that will send superuserUS to the phone. Open reccovery then and scroll down the tree in install and flash the zip. reboot and you are permenantly rooted. You should also look up how to S-OFF [S-Off] Facepalm S-Off for HTC One XL - xda-developers this will allow you to flash anything and be safe as long as it is for the right phone this link is for the ATT HTC One X .[S-Off] Facepalm S-Off for HTC One XL - xda-developers, there is another version which you should be cautious on and DO NOT flash any thing for the International version as it will brick your phone if you have the ATT version. Best way to check is boot to the bootloader and at the top is either Evita or Endeavor shown. if you have the Evita you have the ATT version. Th is link will give you all the tools, roms, radios, etc for the ATT version [INDEX] AT&T/ROGERS One X Resources Compilation Roll-Up (Updated 4/4/13) - xda-developers flash away and have fun.

Not sure, I know if your unlocked and rooted with S-OFF you can flash, RUU , about anything and not be worried. Pretty sure , but don't hold me to it, you can factory reset in recovery(twrp or CWM) and keep unlocked.

I just read this post of yours. If you do not have superSU flashed in recovery you are not fully rooted , I don't think and I think busybox requires superuser permission
