I bought the Mate 10 Pro last month at best buy on sale. Some locations have them in stock just not on display.
When I first set it up the security patch was Jan 1. I immediately received a update to March 1 security and performance improvements.
Then a couple weeks ago another update to April 1 security and enhancements.
Not bad. As fast or faster than many other manufacturers IMO.
The Mate 10 Pro is still one of the best devices on the market hands down. And I have a Pixel 2 XL and have had some of the other flagships.
I am hoping Huawei keeps it coming. I've read on xda a post from someone in the US chatting w Huawei USA customer service who acknowledged the face unlock feature was coming with the next update. Maybe late this month or July.

Don't know about the US but my P20 Pro just got updated to B120 in Canada, previous Mate 9 and Mate 10 Pro both had plenty of updates.

Mine came pre-installed with B120.. the latest is B128...

Try to search .128 by HiCare. I'm in Poland and my phone was showing only .120, when I tried to find the newest update in HiCare app, the .128 version appeared, I accepted it and then installed it in the update menu.

Hey guys check out ∆ link above. Updates in the us shouldn't be a problem. It should depend on whether you have the dual SIM or single sim model. I have the dual SIM and I'm on the .120 version.

Got the B128 update today in Canada, have had the phone for a week two updates so far.

Which model are you using. I just got the .128 update in the US on cricket dual SIM model.
